Experience

Personal statement:

I am an Assistant Professor in the Health, Ethics and Society department at Maastricht University. Prior to this, I was working as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the Centre for Earth System Research and Sustainability (CEN), Institute of Geography, Hamburg University. Previously, I held academic and research positions at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD), and Exeter University (UK). By training, I am a human geographer with an MA (by Research) and PhD from Durham University. In my PhD and post-PhD activities, I was privileged to oscillate between academia and the development sector with a particular focus on climate change adaptation, marginality and everyday life nexus, which covers some significant areas of anthropology of globalisation and health in a changing climate. In short, over more than a decade, I have gained experience in curriculum development, teaching and research supervision at tertiary academic institutions, engaged in several collaborative research, and won a few prestigious research bids (including an Horizon2020 in 2017 with the UM), and published in academic and press media outlets with more than 30 researchers.
